Skill-specific tests designed to measure the critical abilities of an individual in technical, vocational, or production-oriented environments. These pen-to-paper skill assessments are easy to administer and take a short period of time to complete.

Bennett Mechanical Comprehension Test II (BMCT-II) (25 Minutes) Online Version (Paper Version available upon request)

Measures an individual’s ability to learn the principles of operating complex devices. While not measuring current level of mechanical skill, the assessment provides insight into the job candidate or employee’s learning comprehension for new mechanical operations.


Dexterity (6 Minutes) Paper Version

Measures eye-hand coordination and fine motor skills. Scores predict success in skilled and technical tasks including drawing, operating machinery and using equipment or hand tools correctly.

Dimensions (6 Minutes) Paper Version

Measures ability to visualize objects drawn in their exact reverse. Scores predicts success in positions involvig such skills as inspection, design and assembly.

Numbers (6 Minutes) Paper Version

Measures the ability to perform numerical computations rapidly and accurately and to understand mathematical concepts. Scores predict success in tasks such as record keeping, typing, work planning, coding, calculating and obtaining measurements.

Parts (6 Minutes) Paper Version

Measures ability to perceive and organize the whole from a series of parts. Scores predicts success in positions that require planning, scheduling and meeting work demands, as well as technical jobs involving design, engineering and drafting.

Perception (6 Minutes) Paper Version

Measures ability to locate details in words and numbers and to recognize differences quickly. Scores predict success in jobs where detail and accuracy are essential, such as sorting, filing, record keeping, typing and mail handling.

Precision (6 Minutes) Paper Version

Measures ability to perceive details in objects and to recognize differences rapidly. Scores predict success in plant machinery repair, hand tool use, machine operation, and visual and dimensional inspection work for defects.

Reading Comprehension (12 Minutes) Paper Version

Assesses literacy from functional (symbol recognition) to advanced (early college level) with items that relate to common workplace tasks.

Minnesota Clerical Test (15 Minutes) Paper Version

The test has two parts: Number Comparison (8 minutes) and Name Comparison (7 minutes). Each part has 200 items and each item presents a pair of numbers or names, either identical or slightly different. The examinee must correctly select the pairs with elements that are identical. The two parts are timed and scored separately.

Pictorial Reasoning Test (20 Minutes) Paper Version

Measures the ability to learn simple tasks quickly, to discover interrelating principles and to reason and form concepts.

Industrial Reading Test (40 Minutes) Paper Version

Measures an applicants reading ability using passages from industry and vocational schools. The IRT also measures an individual’s ability to comprehend written technical materials.
